Cafe gave me more than just free water

Re; Seven-year-old boy is refused tap water at cafe (Courier, July 13): Last Sunday I received some unfortunate sad news just as I was going out.

As I drove along Regent Street, I decided to stop off for a coffee to reassess things. I went into Bread and Co but only to discover that it was closing time.

All the coffee machines were cleaned and staff tidying up, but a young male assistant asked if I was alright and so after explaining my situation he brought me not a small but large glass of tap water, telling me to sit down and stay until I was alright.

When I finished my tap water I thanked him. There was not a hint of charging me for the water but only extremely polite and friendly customer concern.

Obviously, I have been back as a paying customer and will recommend Bread and Co, in Regent Street, Leamington, to all my friends.

Cafes should not be judged by just one who obviously does not care whether they please or try to make new customers, but certainly Bread and Co pulled out all the right stops and a free glass of water will attract a regular paying customer, so cafe in the park take note - Ron Buyers, Whittle Court, Leamington Spa.
