Callous driver left a family inconsolable

To the callous driver who, while using Woodcote Lane as a racetrack on Saturday morning, hit my Burmese cat and left it dying: you ruined not only Mother’s Day but left a family inconsolable. This was a cherished animal who, although little, had a big personality and has left a huge hole in our lives. This was the second cat I have lost on the road outside my house which is supposedly on a country lane in a quiet Warwickshire village with a 30 mile speed limit. Not that many drivers take note of this at all as they hurtle along still at 50mph well past the 30mph sign.

The animal body count in the village is mounting and I dread that at some point there will be a child hit before any action is taken. Speed humps can be annoying but they are essential in village locations as they do slow drivers down. In the meantime would drivers please note: Woodcote Lane is not a Formula One circuit so slow down and be aware there are animals and children around. - Name and address supplied.
