Can we move on charity muggers?

I would like to see equality on the pavements of Leamington.

I recently popped into Leamington and parked my car on the roadside in Regent Street to do an errand on my way home from work. As I was buying a pay and display ticket I watched as two police officers approached a beggar who was sat in the doorway of a nearby closed shop and moved him on. The beggar had been following the usual pattern of sitting quietly, with a cup in front of him asking passers by for any small donation.

Shortly after this I made my way up the Parade. However during my short walk to WH Smith I was accosted by four different charity ‘muggers’ representing two different charities asking me for a donation.

On each occasion they followed the usual pattern of shouting out to me, moving into my path and flapping their arms and clipboards as they tried to attract my attention.

So if beggars are being moved, can we have equality and move on the charity muggers also? I know which ones prove to the greatest nuisance to me.

By the way, as I finished my errand in Leamington and got back to my car, guess who was back in the doorway of the shop?
