Charging disabled drivers is disgusting

I read with disgust that the council is debating charging for disable parking in the town.

Being a disabled driver, all I can say is that I would love to be able to walk into town. It is sad but not my fault that I have a disability in my walking.

I feel that it is a blow for disabled people to have to be charged, as some have to rely totally on benefits and due to not being able walk at normal speed they would have to pay for longer for their stay. Also, it is nice to be able to park near to where you need to go.

I do hope that this attack is thrown out at the next meeting where it is being discussed. - Michael Costello, via email.
