Concerned by cuts to police levels

We have the police commissioner election on November 15. The Government has given us a referendum on one of their weakest areas, law and order. There have been excessive cuts to Warwickshire Police. We have lost many of our most experienced officers.

The problem with cuts in police numbers is that there are some essential services which are cut more than others. I am particularly concerned about the cuts in neighbourhood policing.

Our safer neighbourhood team in Warwick has lost over half of its officers. Inevitably this will give residents real problems. James Plaskitt has promised to work hard to rebuild the community teams. James is well known to us as an excellent constituency MP. - Cllr John Holland, West Street, Warwick.
