Did anyone know my father?

I am appealing to your readers to see if anyone can help me find out more about my late father Leonard Keith Hatfield.

My mother and father divorced when I was six years old and at that time,1976, I lived in my birth town, Leamington. We were moved in 1977 to Redditch and as far as I can recall I only saw my dad twice after that. For reasons beyond my control, I did not see my dad again after 1978. Through my life I was led to believe, from my mother, that my dad was not a nice man and sadly for me I believed her - only to find out in 2012 that my mother had manipulated the truth.

Unfortunately my dad passed away in September 1992, so I have no way of ever reconciling with him. I have been able to track down my stepmother who kindly let me know that he was a good man and that he helped run the Kingsway Disabled Club. My dad had suffered from before 1970 with curvature of the spine. My stepmother is ill now and I am unable to receive any more information from her. I have been in contact with the library in Leamington and they have very kindly sent me some cuttings that appeared in the Courier between 1986 and 1988.

I know that this is a big request but is it possible that someone could let me know some information regarding the Kingsway Disabled Club and my dad, Leonard Keith Hatfield. I have tried the internet and I am now at a loss as to where to go.

I live in Crewe but I visit Leamington every few months. I only started visiting a couple of years ago and I have fallen in love with my birthplace all over again, plus I visit my stepmother.

If anyone can help, please send the information to the Leamington Courier’s office at 32 Hamilton Terrace, Leamington, CV32 4LY.
