Diversion sign created a diversion for me

I went to Warwick on my mobility scooter on Monday morning via the racecourse and up Linen Street. I turned left at the top of Linen Street so I could use the pedestrian crossing just beyond Cocksparrow Street.

Some way up the street I realised there was a yellow diversion sign taking up the whole path. I had no option but to start reversing back down towards Linen Street which is not easy as the path is narrow. Unbeknown to me a gentleman had seen me and went out of his way to stop and remove the diversion sign (and replace it) to allow me to continue on my journey.

I appreciate the diversion signs need to be visible to road users but to take up the whole width of the path and to have another sign a few hundred yards further along again taking up the path is not well thought out.

Through your letters page I would like to express my thanks to the very kind gentleman who went out of his way to stop and help. I really appreciate it. - Sarah Carr, via email.
