From the wrong side of town.....
Did I detect a sniffy bit of snobbery from Cllr Copping when he described the derelict Ford site as “the wrong side of Leamington” when debating the proposed Morrison supermarket application?
Then to compound it he openly said “none of us want a Morrisons”..... Really? Who’s he speaking for, his Manor Ward constituents who apparently live on the “right side of Leamington” which according to the Warwickshire Police Neighbourhood Scheme centres on Lillington Road/Lime Avenue and stretches to Cubbington?
Personally, as someone who’s lived all his life at the lower end of the town, geographically speaking and obviously the wrong side as well, I couldn’t care two hoots whether Morrisons built there or not, but if it eventually does, I’m sure Mr Copping will be proved wrong....you never know he could be first in the queue on opening day. - Ken Wilkins, Kennan Avenue, Leamington.
