Full compensation for HS2 blight

The HS2 high speed railway project is now costing a vast amount of taxpayers’ money and most of the general public are totally unaware that every family in the UK will be paying for this highly debatable extravaganza.

Many of our politicians are in favour of making themselves famous supporting a development of a new type of travel, which is only going to be used by already the rich and wealthy.

Not enough has been publicised about the demise of the heritage of our green and pleasant land which will be destroyed forever.

The huge number of objections to this scheme have now caused the Government to quickly make amendments to the route and how it is to be constructed, all at increased expense. This cost must be fairly distributed along the whole length of the line between London and Birmingham and eventually up to the North.

Full mitigation and compensation should be decided now after nearly two years of blight - R.G. Ferry, Rugby Road, Cubbington Woods.
