Fuss over Mayor’s shoes is petty
I write as the widow of an army officer, whose son is even now waiting to deploy to Afghanistan.
I cannot believe the pettiness and personal venom behind the attack on the former Mayor of Warwick for her choice of footwear.
The services swear fealty to the crown, come what may, a level of patriotism that is rare today. The mayor’s choice showed that she both understands and shares this loyalty. What’s more the shoes looked great!
