Get involved with town twinning

I am writing to convey greetings and best wishes to all in Warwick from our friends in the twinned towns of Saumur, Verden and Havelberg.

Recently I attended the annual meeting of the four towns. This year Saumur played host. Next year the meeting will be held in W arwick. The main topic of discussion was the Eurocamp project now in the second of a four year programme.

You may have seen requests in local papers for volunteers from Warwick to apply for places on the scheme.

A unique opportunity for up to four young men and women between the ages of 17 to 20 years to work on community projects in each town in turn, Havelberg this year, Verden next year then Warwick in 2015. All expenses paid just pocket money to find. Interested or do you know someone who might be?

An exciting new scheme to follow on from Eurocamp has been proposed that will involve temporary exchanges of young working people between our towns.

We will be looking, as will our partners, to local companies and businesses to participate in this venture by offering internships.

Warwick Twinning is very much involved in promoting and facilitating events such as these as well as setting up school, sports, cultural links with the other towns, if you would like to be involved please contact us on Facebook or me personally, e-mail address supplied.
