Government must step in to help

Warwickshire College is very important to us. Local people can achieve qualifications to progress in their jobs or go to university. Employers can recruit people with the skills they need. The proposed cuts will have a big impact on our local economy.

The news that 96 teaching posts may be cut is alarming. The consequence can only be that courses are cut. It seems that this particularly affects our most vulnerable residents, students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

Warwickshire College is funded by the Government and the powers of the Governors granted by Act of Parliament.

It is therefore obvious where action is needed to prevent this reduction in service. The Government must provide emergency funds to keep these courses running.
