Hope proposal is considered

A few months ago I wrote to the Courier expressing my concerns about the Local Plan as it currently stands. I voiced concerns about the impact of the Local Plan in terms of how it would affect Warwick- the infrastructure of Warwick, transport and air quality. Up until last week, no one - as in councillors from the district council, politicians, etc - had suggested any alternatives to the plan with regards to the number of houses to be built and where.

As a Warwick resident living on one of the busiest main roads into and out of Warwick, it was heartening to read in last Friday’s Courier a proposal by the Labour Party’s prospective parliamentary candidate, Dr Lynette Kelly for Leamington and Warwick, proposing that Warwick district purchase Coventry land to build 5,000 houses. This would indeed alleviate pressure from our town centre and infrastructure and the general impact of the Local Plan as it currently stands.

Congratulations to Dr Kelly for suggesting this and I hope WDC give your proposal serious thought.
