It’s just as pleasant ‘down south’

I sometimes wonder if citizens from north of the town ever set foot past Dormer Place, judging by remarks made by some in the press.

During the sewer excavations one charmer, possibly a driving instructor, moaned that she “had to guide her pupils round the less salubrious parts of the town” - her words.

Now another female protesting at plans to turn offices in Warwick Street into student accommodation said: “This part of Leamington is starting to look a lot like South Leamington. Nice one missus, just call it “Old Town” and you’ll upset everybody.

Oh, and if you can force yourself to cross the river bridge and turn right into High Street, you’ll find quite a monster of a building under construction on the corner of Tachbrook Road and Old Warwick Road.....yes, just to accommodate more students. - Ken Wilkins, Kennan Avenue, Leamington.
