Let us have our say on council future

I applaud Cllr Izzy Seccombe’s proposals for a single unitary council to cover the whole of the county.

The political interests of Warwick district and other territories of district councils can quite easily be covered by area subcommittees which will be supplemented by the views of the elected town councils that will remain.A single county-wide council will do away with the wasteful duplication of roles at district and county levels that presently occurs.I find the prospect of a 30 percent reduction in council tax appealing.

If Cllr Seccombe cannot persuade her colleagues to give serious consideration to her proposal, please could she organise a local referendum so that we can all be given the chance to vote for it?
