Lit-up column might be needed!

As the county council is reducing street lighting so as, amongst other things, to reduce the impact on our night sky, how ironic that the “New landmark for our town” on the front cover of the Courier last week should report as a plus point that the proposed Jubilee column “would illuminate the night sky”.
