Making an ‘iconic’ statement?

I was interested to learn from last week’s leader that the space available at the town hall is 10,000 square feet too little for Warwick District Council.

I would be surprised if with ingenuity and sufficient will the difference could not be at least reduced.

In any case, why does everything have to be in the same building?

And how often will another new building be required? Every ten years? Twenty? Five times a century?

The only reason I can think of why everything must be in one building (regardless of what is destroyed) is to give the council the chance to brag about the architecture being ‘iconic’.
