Normal music service will resume soon

I appreciate that Mr Reg Cox (Courier last week) has noted the change in provision of the music and drama collection. I would like to reassure him that he will be able to access every bit as much of the collection as was the case previously.

This collection is a countywide resource for use by all library customers. It has moved to Nuneaton Library which has adequate space to accommodate it. The move will showcase the collection to potential new customers in other areas of the county.

Whilst the move takes place, we regret that customers will experience the problems faced by Mr Cox in accessing the music and drama collection until the service resumes in full. We anticipate this to be in early May.

Once that happens, all Warwickshire customers and music and drama groups will be able to access the collection by browsing the library catalogue online and arrange delivery of materials to other Warwickshire libraries for collection as before.

Customers will also be able to speak to specialist staff, in person, over the phone by calling 01926-412168.

I hope that clarifies the situation and we look forward to normal service resuming, albeit from a different location, for music and drama lovers across all of Warwickshire. - Paul McDermott, principal librarian, Warwickshire County Council.
