Not a very fare reflection

I am writing this letter as a regular traveller on local bus routes for many years.

Call me cynical if you like but the price of oil has crashed and petrol prices are falling.

Stagecoach bus company, however, is not reducing its fares to reflect this and to give its loyal customers the benefits of this price reduction.

This means its profits will be even greater as a result.

I’d be prepared to bet you a pound to a penny that once oil prices start rising Stagecoach will yet again increase its fares, dragging out the well-used excuse of ‘world oil prices’ being responsible for the ‘sad but inevitable increases’.

Strange how the ‘world oil prices’ never seem to be responsible for reductions in anything that will benefit us poor old plebs.
