Not impressed by new-look centre
My daughter and I were looking forward to finding out what lovely improvements had been made to the newly refurbished Newbold Comyn swimming pool when we visited today, bearing in mind it had been shut for two months. After all, it was all looking a bit tired and grubby, wasn’t it?
So they’ve installed a new flume (in the same design) and put a few new benches in the sauna. That’s great! Presumably the builders drank a lot of tea in the remaining seven weeks.
Luckily in the last few days, they allowed regular staff back to trample muddy boots through the changing rooms, ensure the foyer looked as dingy as always and do a team-building exercise about surliness. - Helen Greenwood, via email.
