Our councillor deserves praise

It has been announced that a pedestrian crossing will at last be reinstated in High Street/Jury Street, Warwick.

I would like to bring to the attention of your readers that Cllr John Holland (Labour) has fought a long campaign to have the crossing reinstated, both as town councillor and now also as county councillor for Warwick West. Cllr Holland even raised the issue with chief executive, Jim Graham, on the day of his election, fulfilling a promise he had made to local residents, and has worked since then with council officers to have the crossing reinstated as soon as practically possible.

I would like to thank Cllr Holland for his efforts, on behalf of the people of Warwick, to rectify what had become a dangerous situation.

Raj Kang, Leyburn Close, Warwick
