Restaurant should be left to trade in peace

I am appalled to see that planning officers are again haranguing La Coppola Italian restaurant in Regent Street. This is one of the best and most authentic restaurants in Leamington and many people were sorry to see them forced to remove the decorative blinds last year.

Undeterred they have now decorated the front with greenery (of the type used by other establishments in the town) but the Courier reports that this too will have to be removed.

If the council is concerned about Regent Street losing its character, it should stop leasing shops to chains like Domino Pizza rather than continuing down this path of officious bullying. - Gail Lawson, Keswick Green, Leamington
