Seeking major’s descendants

I am trying to find out as much as I can about a 19th century Leamington resident Major Ambrose Valintine.

He was a well-known figure in the town for nearly 20 years until his tragic death in Malvern in 1894.

He and his wife Catherine (née Russell) lived at No. 4 Heath Terrace, Milverton, and they are both buried in Milverton cemetery.

They had three children – Catherine, Ambrose (who died in 1938) and Rudolph (who “died of wounds received in action at Huj” in Palestine in 1917).

It is quite possible that descendants of Major and Mrs Valintine still live in the Leamington area and I should very much like to hear from them. I am particularly keen to have a photograph of the major. My email address is: [email protected]
