Shopping will suffer

In reply to Cllr Dave Shilton’s letter regarding parking charges, I must point out that increases in parking charges and charging blue badge holders will only result in fewer people shopping in Kenilworth.

It is free to park in most of Coventry’s shopping centres such as Canon Park, Morrisons and Gallagher Park. Canon Park is only three miles from Kenilworth and has Tesco, Iceland and Wilkinsons under one roof and you can take a shopping trolley around the whole complex and right to your car saving any carrying at all.

These increases and changes will only result in less revenue for the council and loss of profits for local traders. Cllr Shilton would never have supported these ideas when he was a Liberal Democrat but now he’s a Tory things have changed. - George Sawbridge, Keeling Road, Kenilworth.
