Street collection raised more than £1,000

May we thank everyone who donated to our recent street collection in Leamington for the East Africa Famine Appeal which raised an amazing £1,050.51 in just six and a half hours.

It is humbling that despite the economic difficulties being faced by many families at the moment people donated so generously.

This money will be put to immediate use in East Africa where a deadly combination of failed rains and rising food prices have left 10 million people facing a devastating food crisis across the region. Families have lost their incomes and food supplies. Millions of children are hungry, thirsty and desperate.

We are rapidly providing food, water, medicine and crucial support to families who have lost their incomes.

Thanks are also due to our small team of collectors who gave so willingly of their time. - Ann Bailey, Honorary Secretary Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth branch, Save the Children.
