Take care when visiting the hospital

Having just spent eight days over Christmas in the CCU unit of Warwick Hospital, moving wards as more urgent patients came in, I was able to see the care and attention that was given to all patients and myself from the nursing staff and doctors.

With the Norovirus in the hospital all the staff from the tea lady, nurses, doctors and administration staff all took extreme care with using the antiseptic dispensers at all times, cleaners were always around, making sure everywhere was cleaned properly.

All this made me aware it is the visiting public who bring the germs into hospital. If only they would follow the advice given at all entries to the hospital by using the antiseptic dispensers on their hands especially when visiting a patient and help them by being extra vigilant with cleanliness, don’t sit on beds, put cloths on the beds, only two visitors per patient.

If you the visitor have been in contact with someone with sickness/diarrhoea or have a cold don’t visit the hospital – please think about your loved one before you visit. - Jim Steele, via email.
