Thanks for Poppy Appeal support

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all those who took part in fundraising for the Royal British Legion, Warwick Branch, during the Poppy Appeal.

With special thanks to Flight Lieutenant Bob Eccles and Air Cadets from 1368 Squadron, Air Training Corps, who staffed the Legion Charity Stall in Warwick Market Square and Group Scout Leader James Elson and the 2nd Sea Scouts (and parents) for collecting in the town centre. It takes many hours of organising to ensure that local shops, businesses, schools and local residents are offered the chance to donate to the Poppy Appeal. Last year the branch raised just under £40,000 and it is hoped that we will increase that amount this year.

The Poppy Appeal makes it possible for the Legion to help the Armed Forces and their families with £1.7 million every week in direct welfare support - that’s £90 million each year, answering more than 165,000 calls for help. We help every age group and generation - providing life long care to those who have served today and for the rest of their lives. Thank you all indeed. - Keith Talbot, Hon. Secretary Warwick Branch, Poppy Appeal Organiser.
