Thanks for your petition support

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in the presentation of the Save Bath Place Petition before the County Council in Shire Hall on July 10.

Firstly, the Networking Mums who organised the petition which garnered over 1,500 signatures with representation from all four corners of the earth! There is an incredible amount of support for what we are trying to accomplish and the commentary reflects that in a very moving way.

Secondly, the Democratic Services Department at Warwickshire County Council who were very helpful in shepherding the petition through and gave helpful advice when it was needed.

Lastly, and most certainly not least, I would especially like to thank county councillor Penny Rose Bould whose initial advice and support helped to ensure that the presentation by our chair, David Williams, was as succinct and concise as possible. In response to an untabled question from Cllr Bould it was agreed that WCC’s legal department will look into the fact that there are restrictive covenants dating from 1899 on the Old Library which may have ramifications for the future of a much loved and well-used community asset. - Clayton Denwood, Site Supervisor, Bath Place Community Venture.
