Time to solve town crossing debacle

We cannot go on week after week with letters and stories in the Courier complaining about the traffic scheme our county councillors have introduced in High Street and Jury Street in Warwick.

Pedestrians find the street dangerous and are unable to cross the road. Drivers are confused and significant damage must have been done to vehicles. The scheme which was put forward in 2011 included crossings with black and white stripes at all of the points where people would want to cross the road. These crossings were removed by our county councillors when they approved the scheme.

The groups working hard to make our town centre a success are being undermined by this adverse publicity. Clearly we need a crossing to be reinstated as a matter of urgency. We also need solutions to the problems identified in the letters to the Courier. This should not be difficult. It just needs to be done. - Cllr John Holland, Warwick.
