Will these homes be accounted for?

In the last few days, Bovis has resubmitted a detailed planning application to develop the land to the south of Fieldgate Lane in Whitnash.

Amongst other things, it increases the number of houses from the 94 approved on the outline planning permission to 110.

It was reported a couple of weeks ago that plans are now under way for a new housing estate of 280 homes in Bishops Tachbrook (goodness knows how many that will finally be once the detailed planning permission is granted).

That makes nearly 400 houses that the developers have stated they want to build. But neither of these sites was in the Local Plan as areas for development. We can only speculate at the moment whether there are others in the pipeline

Is it naive to hope that Warwick District Council will now reduce the total number of houses in the Local Plan? After all, some of the housing to be developed ‘at some point in the future’ is now in the process of getting planning approval.

Or are all the developers hoping that these are in addition to the 12,900 in the plan?
