Would you like to be a CAB trustee

Thank you for your recent article in the Courier regarding the work that Warwick District CAB is doing in respect of cancer patients. Our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support is a vital part of our work with local people.

We are a charity which has served our community for over 70 years, providing a free, independent, impartial and confidential service for those who need it. We value the commitment of our public sector partners in their continued funding of our service, despite the difficult economic pressures they face.

It is my privilege to be chair of an organisation that could not run without the dedication of the team of people at the bureau. It includes paid employees, volunteers and trustees. Our board aims to balance an ever increasing demand for help with very tight funding.

On our trustee board, a key role in maintaining this balance is that of the treasurer. Our current treasurer retires in October after six years of dedicated service, and we are seeking a replacement. Through your newspaper, I would like to invite those with an accounting background and a desire to volunteer some time as a trustee, to contact the bureau manager in the first instance for more information about the role. Once again, thank you for your continued interest in the essential work of our Citizens Advice Bureau. - John Daly, Chair of Trustee Board, Warwick District CAB.
