Panto magic begins as cast entertain in town

ENCHANTING characters brought smiles to shoppers at the Royal Priors in Leamington on Saturday.

Members of the cast of the Spa Centre’s sparkling 2011 pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, paid a visit to the shopping centre to meet and greet families. Tickets to the show, which takes place from Friday December 1 to Saturday December 31, are now on sale, with adult tickets being offered for the same price as child tickets. There will also be a ‘pay what you can’ night on Sunday December 9.

The familiar tale, being brought to the Spa Centre by Coventry-based Imagine Theatre, tells the story of a beautiful princess who is cursed at her christening by the wicked Fairy Carabosse, which means that on her 18th birthday she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die.

The good Fairy Azuriel offers some hope, and she changes the spell to ensure that the princess won’t die.

The Newbold Terrace venue is promising spectacular scenery, corny jokes and plenty of slapstick and audience participation to make this a pantomime worth seeing.
