Party to help people caught up in conflict
Justice for Paliestinians, an activist group based in Leamington, is hosting the event at St Patrick’s Club in Adelaide Road on Friday January 18, to raise funds for the UK-based Medical Aid for Palestinians.
A spokeswoman for the group, which was formed four years ago in reaction to previous conflicts in Gaza, said that the charity was one of only two international agencies able to get urgently-needed medical supplies to casualty wards within the first few hours of the most recent bombings. The organisation also delivers emergency medical supplies and food to displaced families sheltering in the United Nations schools in Gaza and it provides therapy to traumatised children in the region.
