The Warwick Town Bonfire Committee have announced today (Tuesday) that they are cancelling this year’s bonfire and firework show at Warwick Racecourse.
A spokesperson from the committee said: "Hoping against hope that the outbreak was receding, the new restrictions brought in this weekend made it clear that it would have been irresponsible to encourage crowds to converge on the racecourse at this time.

"Warwick Town Bonfire raises thousands of pounds for Warwick Lions and Warwick Rotary clubs who have been organising the event for nearly 30 years.
"The proceeds are recycled into their support for local charities.

"The Bonfire will return in 2021 with a show by Fantastic Fireworks, and the organisers thank all our sponsors and hosts Warwick Racecourse for their support.
"Lions and Rotary continue to meet regularly on Zoom with speakers and local projects and welcome new members."
