Based on the advice Public Health England, the school has remained open.

Siobhan Evans added: "As the student was not symptomatic at school, and as we have already implemented a stringent cleaning schedule, we were advised that we should continue to stay open to students.

"Since then, as with any organisation, we have a number of staff who are self-isolating or being advised to stay away from public areas as they have health issues.

"It is important to stress that, given we are at a time of the year when there are lots of colds and bugs going about, displaying these symptoms does not mean they have Covid-19.

"It is, however, right that we all manage appropriately the potential of any of us having the virus to help protect every member of our community, particularly the most vulnerable.

"We continue to urge people to do all that they can to stay safe, and help others to stay safe, by following all the guidance from Public Health England."
