'Boris is a fighter - he will beat this' - Rugby Conservatives react to Prime Minister's transfer to intensive care

Rugby's Conservatives have reacted to this evening's news that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been transferred to an intensive care unit after his Covid-19 symptoms worsened.

Cllr Pete Gilbert, chairman of Rugby Conservative Association said: "Everyone in Rugby Conservative Association send their best wishes and support to our Prime Minister.

"He will be getting the best care from our brilliant NHS.

"Boris is a fighter, and he will beat this."

Cllr Gilbert's statement comes as politicians from across the political spectrum with the PM a speedy recovery.

Mr Johnson was first admitted to hospital for tests on the night of April 5, but his condition worsened this afternoon.
