Council is providing help to people living in and around Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth to claim £150 energy rebate payment

Residents living in and around Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth and Southam can get help from the Warwick or Stratford District Councils to claim a £150 energy rebate payment.
The councils say they are ‘clarifying the process’ to ensure those who are eligible receive the one-off payment ahead of the September deadline.

Hide AdThe Government has announced that most households in England in council tax bands A to D will receive the payment.
Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for homes, health and wellbeing Councillor Jan Matecki said: “We fully appreciate that many households in our districts are struggling financially with spiralling fuel bills and inflation.
"At very short notice our teams are going the extra mile to ensure that these payments are made as quickly as possible to those who are eligible, whilst making sure all the necessary checks are in place to prevent fraudulent claims.
“In addition to this we will shortly be announcing a discretionary scheme for residents who do not qualify under the terms of the rebate but are facing difficulties in paying their bills.”

Hide Ad“We would ask residents to keep looking at the Council websites for further updates in the next few weeks.
“There is no need for anyone to contact the council at this stage.”
The councils have set up a web page with detailed information on the rebate and the forthcoming discretionary scheme which will be updated regularly.
