The family of a Southam College student who sadly lost his life just before his A level exams have passed on his double bass to the school in his memory.

A plaque has also been attached to the case to commemorate the life of Cameron Dowling.

The plaque reads: 'This instrument belongs to Cameron Dowling. 2004 to 2022. Amazing musician, will be forever missed'.

A spokesperson for the college said the gift from his family will benefit students for many years to come, adding: "We would like to thank his family for this gesture and Cameron will always be remembered by those who knew him at our school.

"We are all proud of Cameron at Southam and he touched many people in his time here.

"This generous gift will allow other students to follow Cameron’s love of music and play this incredibly valuable instrument in his memory."
