Councillors are imperative to the function of the council including setting the budget, agreeing policies and strategies, providing scrutiny and representing the needs of residents living in their ward.

Chris Elliott, Chief Executive of Warwick District Council said: “Becoming a councillor is a rewarding form of public service that puts people in a position where they can make a difference to the quality of someone’s daily life.

"However, being a councillor is also a lot of hard work, with the needs and interests of many different people needing to be balanced.
