"Now the aim is to do well for the Development Squad - pushing to train and play with the first team.

"There is a lot of hard work ahead of me, but I know it's something that I can achieve. I'm looking forward to the challenge."

QPR CEO Christian Nourry added: "Over the course of the recruitment process to bring Jack in, we were convinced not only by his ball-playing and technical prowess, but also his maturity and strong human qualities.”

The highlight of his Aston Villa career was winning the Hong Kong Sevens tournament last year.

He had interest from several other clubs but opted for QPR due to "the clear pathway into first team action".

Talking to QPR's official website, Jack added: "I'm a ball-playing centre-half. I love to get on the ball and break the lines.

"I love defending as well and I always want to keep a clean sheet. I'm a really hard-working player who will always give everything."
