Fundraising campaign for multi-use games arena in Cubbington
A fundraising campaign has been launched to have a multi-use sports area installed at a Cubbington park.
Cubbington Parish Council has launched the campaign after it received requests from villagers to have the facility built near the Cliff Cleaver pavilion at the Broadway Playing Field.
The council has set a fundraising goal of £10,000 and setup a crowdfunding web page on the GoFundMe website.
The parish council said: “We run a successful youth club for our youngsters and having a dedicated outside sports arena would greatly enhance our provision.
“The Multi-use games arena could be used to promote and teach sporting activities which would encourage our community to learn new skills and promote a healthy lifestyle.”
Parish council vice chair Councillor Esther McCarthy has been out and about around the village to gain support for the campaign.
Village shop Best-One has already donated £100 to the cause.
