Further meeting to be held on safety at Warwick park

A further meeting around safety in a park in Warwick is due to held next week.

Last October, a meeting was held after residents in Warwick were pushing for more CCTV cameras to be installed in St Nicholas Park due to an increase in concerns about anti-social behaviour.

The meeting was hosted by Warwickshire County Council and attended by residents as well as other concerns groups – including the Friends of St Nicholas Park group.

A further meeting is now due to be held in the Pickard Street Community Centre, near the Pickard Street entrance to the park on Monday March 30.

It will start at 6pm and representatives from councils and Warwickshire Police are due to attend.

Speaking about this meeting, Linda Bromley, from the Friends of St Nicholas Park group said: “We are hoping that more cameras will be offered to safeguard users of the park.

“We are hoping that we shall have a good attendance. All are welcome.”

A spokesperson from Warwickshire County Council said: “We can confirm that representatives from Warwickshire Police, Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council will be at the public meeting, the latest of a number of meetings over the past couple of years where partners have been available to listen to concerns."
