Groups across the Warwick district have come together to feed those people in need this Christmas

Groups across the Warwick district have come together to make sure people in the community will receive food for Christmas.

Alexandra Pearson, Morrison's community champion at Leamington, decided to bring people together to help those in need during this tough time.

So she launched Operation Snowfall, which brought together the Warwick Lions, Community Gifting Group, Morrisons, Warwickshire Search and Rescue and Cubbington Mill Care Home.

The operation finished on December 16, and Alexandra said: "I knew how hard Christmas would be this year with money so I decided to get a group of people together to support people during these tough times.

"We had over 200 boxes and started to ask for them in August, once they returned I got the labels on them and asked the customers of Morrisons Leamington to help by filling them up with items.

"We have done 200 boxes for our community. We have supported Warwick children's services, local families who are struggling, Cubbington Care Home residents who will not see family."

Pets at Home in Leamington kindly donated food and toys to go to the Dogs Trust in Kenilworth as well.
