Customers will be advised of the new measures on arrival which include a one-way system and floor signage to enable social distancing, and hands-free sanitiser stations at entry and exit points.

The premises have been deep-cleaned with a special solution which provides a 30-day anti- viral barrier and has been applied to every surface including menus, tables and chairs, door handles, toilets and switches.

All staff will be temperature checked at the start of each shift and will wear PPE according to their working environment. Social distancing screens have also been installed at bar and till points, and tables and chairs have been spaced out to meet government guidelines.

The pub dates back to an 18 th century coaching house and the renovation retains and enhances its much-loved traditional features, whilst also incorporating modern benefits such as the installation of a new high-speed Wi-Fi.

New lighting, flooring and décor have been installed throughout and the area know as the bar and the ‘nook’ has undergone the biggest change to resemble a traditional gentleman’s club with wood panelling which will be available for business meetings and private parties.

Jason said: “It’s incredibly rare to get down-time like this as pub owner, so we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity presented to us to complete these works.

“Areas have been created with different themes with consideration for the fabric of the building, its heritage and attention to detail. While some areas just needed light redecoration, some needed much more TLC.

“We’ve not just thought about the interior of the building but have also introduced plenty of new tables in the garden, and an outside bar and service point.

“We want to thank everyone for their patience during lockdown.

"We chose not to do takeaways as we wanted to put our heart and soul into this project and have been working quietly behind the scenes on these exciting changes.

"We look forward to welcoming customers back and have put in place a range of measures to keep everyone safe whilst enjoying our new surroundings.”
