Gemma said: "I have rescued and supported hundreds of guinea pigs.

"I rehome the healthy younger guinea pigs at the centre and the donations from rehoming helps towards the feeding bills.

"I also offer bonding, grooming, adoption, take in surrenders and offer bonding services.

"The panademic affected the income due to not being able to have holiday boarders in."

Gemma has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, which means her days can be both tiring and painful.

Recently Gemma launched a fundraising drive to help create a nicer and safer outdoor area for the guinea pigs and her.

"I inherited my home from a hoarder, so there was lots of work to be done.

"I'm now in the final step, and that requires me to hire landscapers so I can truly create a piggy paradise.

"I need landscapers help because after giving the piggies all the care they need everyday, I have little energy left for anything else.

"The landscaping work will make the garden suitable and safe for both the guineas and me.

"As my disabilities affects my mobility - it can make it difficult to get about. The garden is dangerous when wet."

Gemma is appealing for help in raising the money.

She said: "I've raised just over £1,000 so far, but need much more to continue turning the garden into a guinea pig haven. I need about another £6,000.

"I would like to add that I'm always here to help people with their guinea pig needs."
