Warwick officially kicked off the festive season last week with its annual Victorian Evening and Christmas lights switch.

The event took place in the town centre on Thursday November 27 and featured stalls, street performers, rides and live performances on the stage.

The town’s Christmas lights were turned on by the Mayor of Warwick Cllr Jackie D’Arcy and Father Christmas and this year there were several new additions to the lights thanks to the Warwick Christmas Lights team at Warwick Town Council, who help to fundraise every year for new lights.

A new light curtain was also switched on at the event, which was funded by the Warwick Schools Foundation.

The St Mary’s Christmas Tree Festival also launched, which attracted more than 2,000 visitors on the opening night. The Christmas Tree Festival will be running until Sunday December 7.
