The town's market square and the surrounding streets were lined with fairground rides, stalls and games for the first weekend of the historic fair.
The annual event, traces its history back around 700 years to a time when local agricultural workers and domestic servants sought employment.
Dignitaries from Warwick Town Council, the Town Crier and the Mayor of Warwick, Cllr Simon Pargeter, gathered for the official opening ceremony on Saturday (October 17).
Speaking about the Mop, the Mayor of Warwick said: “It was a great pleasure to attend the official opening of Warwick’s Mop.
“The Mop is a wonderful part of Warwick’s heritage and a tradition that brings our community together, creating memories for generations.
“A huge thank you to Tommy for once again bringing this much-loved event to Warwick and keeping this fantastic tradition alive.”
The second weekend of the Mop – known as the Runaway Mop – will take place on Friday October 23 from 5pm to 10pm and Saturday October 24 from 12noon to 10pm.
