Inquest: Southam College pupil died after being struck by lorry's wing mirror

Holly Chevassut, 14, died in hospital two days later (Friday November 2, 2018).
The inquest heard how Holly was walking along the unlit Plough Lane, which has no footpaths, at about 5.30pm when she was struck by part of a recovery truck owned by GRS Recovery.

Hide AdCoroner Tom Leeper has published a report highlighting concerns that, following the incident, changes needed to be made to the vehicles to to prevent a repeat incident.
GRS Recovery has responded, saying that the wing mirror protectors, like the one which Holly was struck by, have now been removed from its vehicles with the position of the wing mirrors having been altered.
The cause of Holly's death was recorded as a traumatic spinal cord injury as the result of a road traffic collision.
Following Holly's death her parents paid tribute to her saying: "'We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beautiful daughter.

Hide Ad"Holly was a wonderful young woman; talented, creative, funny and beautiful.
"She made us laugh, sometimes cry and we are so very proud of her, of all she achieved and all that she might have become.
"She is much loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed."
Paying tribute Holly shortly after her death, Ranjit Samra, the Southam College headteacher, said: "Holly was a wonderful student who was full of energy and had a fantastic future ahead of her.
"She was liked and respected by everyone who knew her.
"We will all miss her kind and caring nature and our thoughts and prayers are with her many friends and family."
