A hard-working warehouse operative from Rugby woke up to a rather pleasant £50k surprise the morning after a gruelling late shift.

Sharlene Morgan was having a lie-in when BOTB presenter Christian Williams video-called to tell her that her 85p ticket had netted her a brand new Audi S3 Sportback and £10,000 in cash.

The 21-year-old was more than a little taken aback when she got the good news, asking Christian: "Is this a joke? I don’t know what to say, I just can’t believe it.”

Car enthusiast Sharlene had been driving a humble Seat Ibiza, but had been looking to upgrade for a while.

She and her boyfriend Dion, 22, had been playing BOTB competitions for months - and when she saw the striking Audi on offer she could not resist buying a ticket.

She said: "I played for the Audi because it’s just such a lovely car - the exterior, the interior, the power, everything.

"As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted it.”

Like any self-respecting petrol head, she plans to spend the £10,000 in cash on upgrades for her flash, new Audi.

She said: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to own a brand-new car, I might as well get it exactly how I want it."

Christian, who surprises the BOTB winners each week, said: “What a morning for Sharlene! I felt bad for waking her up but as soon as she realised what was happening, the guilt went away.

"What a wake-up call. Massive congratulations again both.”

BOTB first opened in 1999, and has given away £37m worth of cars since then.
