Amy Lee has set up a JustGiving online donations page to support the Nagra family who run The Top Shop in Newland Road after thieves targeted the convenience store this week.

Owner Indy Nagra's wife Raj, 52, was running the store at the time because he is currently having to shield due to being at high risk of the potentially fatal effects of Covid-19 because he has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

On the JustGiving page, Amy has said: "This is the perfect time for us all to show this family how much we appreciate their tireless work and show them there are good people in their time of need."

But instead of using the donations to cover their losses, the Nagra family will be giving any money raised to the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.

The family have said: "We have decided to donate all funds raised to the Warwickshire NHS trust to support the staff and patients at this very difficult time.

"A big thank you to Amy for starting this and thank you to everybody for all their kind messages and support. "

Indy, 56, has said: "I'd ask other retailers to be vigilant and if anybody is offered cheap alcohol or cigarettes to buy to ask for proof of purchase."
